Join us and support the Sickle Cell Clinic at SickKids
The Prince Hall Family is embarking on an important awareness campaign for Sickle Cell Disease in Ontario and Quebec. We have committed to raise 1M for the new Sickle Cell Clinic at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. As part of our fundraising efforts one of our members is embarking on a bike ride from Windsor to Toronto. The bike ride will begin on September 21st and he will be stopping at hospitals in Windsor, Chatham, London, Kitchener, Guelph, Hamilton, Mississauga, Brampton and end at SickKids in Toronto on the 27th of September. Please support this important cause and donate.
You can help us raise $1,000,000 in support of the Sickle Cell Disease Clinic by:
1) Making a donation to our campaign
2) Creating a fundraising page for yourself or your organization and collecting donations from your community.
We will also host a Black Tie Brunch to celebrate the awareness campaign and our donation to the SickKids Sickle Cell Clinic on Sunday September 28th from 2-8PM. The event will be held at the Sts Peter and Paul Banquet Hall, 231 Milner Ave. Scarborough ON M1S 5E3. Individual tickets are $150.00. Purchase of a table at the event and sponsorships are also encouraged. Net proceeds of the event will go to our campaign. Your Impact
Sickle cell disease was the first genetic disease in humans for which the molecular cause was known. Recently, it became the first genetic disease for which a CRISPR (Nobel prize-winning technology) product has been approved for treatment with curative intent. SCD is severely underfunded, therefore, The Prince Hall Family, with other community partners, will collectively step up and advocate against the many disparities concerning funding, care and research for SCD.
We envision a future where children and their families, who suffer from the many complications of SCD individually and collectively, have a safe harbour until this debilitating disease is conquered. The Sickle Cell Disease clinic is the largest pediatric clinic in Canada and sees over 1000 patients a year. Together with The Hospital for Sick Children we hope to support health equity and remove disparities.
Help transform the future of kids' health care through Precision Child Health - care tailored to each patient.
