The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge
Since 1852, the Prince Hall Family in the Province of Ontario and Quebec, via grass roots initiatives, continues to be involved in the upliftment and support of the community. Our primary focus was the financial support of youth in their pursuit of post-secondary education.
As a Fraternity we have recently expanded this financial mandate to now include Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). Our aims concerning SCD are in the areas of advocacy, awareness, education, research, care and treatment. The Prince Hall Family is excited to announce that we have partnered with The Hospital for Sick Children to conquer the greatest challenges in children's health by supporting the Sickle Cell Disease Clinic.
Sickle cell disease is a painful disease with lifelong effects. Approximately 6,000 Canadians have received this diagnosis and more than 300,000 babies with severe haemoglobin disorders, like SCD, are born each year around the world. While SCD has a global footprint, broad awareness of this disease and how it predominantly affects those with African ancestry is not as well known.
The Sickle Cell Disease Clinic at the Hospital is another step in the right direction to enhance all of the great work currently being done at the hospital.
Please support this great cause by giving generously.
We are eternally grateful.
