I finally ran my first 5K.
This journey’s been in two parts…
From 315+ down to 260…
Then this year, from 263 to 224 (and counting).
But this next 5K means more.
Because this one is personal.
I was a patient at SickKids.
At 9 months old, I had open heart surgery there.
That place… those people…
they gave me a chance at life.
I don’t remember it,
but my family does.
And now I get to live it.
From being the baby in that hospital…
to losing over 90 lbs…
to standing at a start line.
That’s bigger than a race.
This is gratitude.
This is perspective.
This is giving back to a place that gave me everything.
