This one means more than just a finish line.
I haven’t even run my first 5K yet…
but I signed up for another anyway.
Because this one is personal.
I was a patient at SickKids.
At 9 months old, I had open heart surgery there.
That place… those people…
they gave me a chance at life.
I don’t remember it,
but my family does.
And now I get to live it.
So being able to run in support of SickKids…
it’s something I don’t take lightly.
From being the baby in the hospital…
to standing at a start line.
That’s bigger than a race.
This is gratitude.
This is perspective.
This is giving back to a place that gave me everything.
