Hi Karen, I have met you and Mel many times over the years. I grew up with Colin, and always looked up to Mel and Len as Colin’s older brothers and men of great character, integrity and role models… mostly. I never had the privilege of meeting Matthew, however, I have always had a strong belief that one is only as good as the company one keeps. I count myself as overwhelming fortunate to include the DeSouza’s as honoured company. I cannot imagine what you are feeling, however, after reading such a thoughtful and loving obituary, and knowing Mathew’s company, I am truly devastated by the loss of one who was the product of such a loving and strong family. Over the years the DeSousa’s have been stuck with an unfair share of tragedy. For what it is worth, I would like you and Mel to know that Alyson and I have Matthew, Mel, you, and the entire DeSouza family in hearts.
