Why We Ride for SickKids

On June 12, our family’s world was put on pause when my nephew was admitted to SickKids Hospital for multiple surgeries and ongoing tests. Since then, he has shown incredible strength and courage through every procedure, appointment, and challenge placed in front of him.

During his stay, he celebrated his 4th birthday and Father's Day from a hospital room. While no family hopes to spend these special occasions in the hospital, the nurses and staff at SickKids went above and beyond to make his birthday as fun, memorable, and exciting as possible. Their kindness, compassion, and genuine care reminded us that they do much more than provide medical treatment, they bring comfort, hope, and smiles during some of the most difficult moments a family can face.

We are grateful to share that his surgeries have gone well, and doctors continue to monitor his recovery through ongoing testing and observation. Every day, we see firsthand the dedication of the doctors, nurses, and support staff who work tirelessly to provide world-class care while treating every child and family with dignity, empathy, and compassion.

This experience has reinforced exactly why we are raising money for SickKids. Donations help ensure that children receive the specialized care they need and that families have access to the support, resources, and incredible healthcare professionals who help them navigate difficult journeys.
