I'm Fundraising in Support of SickKids!
My name is Zoiya, I’m raising money for SickKids because it’s the place that helped me through one of the hardest medical experiences of my life. At SickKids I had a diagnosis of a rare gastrointestinal condition called SMAS syndrome. I was hospitalized in unit 7B and spent my time on the 7th floor undergoing tests, monitoring, and treatments while trying to understand such a rare illness. SMA Syndrome affects about 0.13% to 0.3% and due to my state when I was checked into the emergency room, it had a mortality rate of about 85% to 90% in my case.
The Art for Hearts Foundation, is something I’m building with my grandpa who has always had a deep passion for art. Together, we’re creating art that represents healing, courage, and the love that carried me through my diagnosis.
Every dollar raised through this fundraiser goes directly toward the unrestricted fund at SickKids, meaning your support helps wherever the need is greatest — from life‑saving equipment to GI research to the everyday comforts that make long hospital stays on units like 7B a little less frightening. SickKids gave me safety, answers, and hope during the scariest chapter of my life, and now I want to give back.
