Heart Story Into Hope

Sunday 5th Jul My name is Sudarsha, and SickKids will always be part of my heart story. At 15, I was diagnosed with a heart condition that affected the rhythm of my heart. For a long time, I doubted my own symptoms and would tell myself, “It’s probably just anxiety,” even when deep down I knew something felt wrong. SickKids was where I finally received answers and care. My diagnosis and first cardiac surgery took place at SickKids, and even though I went on to have two more heart surgeries at another hospital, SickKids was where my journey truly began.  What could have been one of the scariest moments of my life became an experience filled with comfort, care, and hope. The team at SickKids helped me feel safe during a time when everything felt uncertain, and that kind of support is something I will never forget. This fundraiser means more to me than simply raising money. It is my way of turning fear into purpose, gratitude into action, and my story into support for children and families facing their own medical journeys. Share
