300 Kilometres in 30 Days: Why I’m Walking for SickKids This November
Every child deserves to grow up healthy, active, and free to experience the simple joys of childhood.
Too often, that reality is interrupted by illness. Across Canada and around the world, families face diagnoses that turn everyday life upside down, requiring the kind of specialized, relentless medical care that only a world-class institution can provide. For tens of thousands of families each year, that institution is The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).
Starting November 1st, I am committing to an endurance challenge that is deeply meaningful to me: walking 300 kilometres across the 30 days of November to raise $1,000 for the SickKids Foundation.
Why 300 Kilometres?
Hitting 300 km requires logging 10 kilometres every single day—rain, wind, or chill. But this distance isn’t just a personal fitness target; it has a very specific purpose.
On any given day, an average of nearly 300 children occupy an inpatient bed at SickKids, battling complex conditions ranging from rare genetic disorders to childhood cancers and pediatric heart conditions.
I am dedicating one kilometre to every single child resting in those beds.
Each kilometre on the pavement represents the resilience of these kids, the endurance of their parents, and the tireless dedication of the doctors, nurses, and researchers working around the clock to give them their futures back.
Follow Along and Get Involved
I will be posting weekly updates throughout November to share mileage progress, reflections from the road, and milestones as we push toward the $1,000 target.

Great initiative for a meaningful cause! Best wishes 👏
