First Time Riding for SickKids
Sunday 9th AugThis is my first year riding in the Ride for SickKids and I’m really looking forward to it.
I’ve logged over 50,000 km, but these next 100 km feel different. There’s a real reason behind this ride. Supporting the kids and families at SickKids means something personal to me. Fourteen years ago my daughter was a patient there. I still remember the worry, the long days, and the incredible care the staff gave her. Those memories stick with you. Being able to ride for this cause feels like a small way of giving something back.
I honestly don’t know what to expect on the ride. I’m not sure how it will feel seeing hundreds of bikes lined up, or what the energy will be like when we all take off together. I’m just glad I’ll be part of it.
I’m proud to be one of the riders twisting the throttle for the kids who might never know the joy of riding.
