I'm Fundraising in Support of SickKids!
This September I'm racing dragon boat at Marilyn Bell Park — as a total first-timer — and I'm using it to raise money for SickKids.
My son Akoni spent his first two months in the NICU. If you've ever sat beside a hospital crib watching your child fight, you know there's no fear like it — and no relief like being in the hands of people who know exactly what to do. SickKids has been there for our family ever since. All three of my kids go to SickKids whenever they're sick or something's wrong, and every time, they've cared for our children like their own.
That's why I'm paddling for SickKids this season. I'll be racing at the Tim Hortons GWN Dragon Boat Challenge at Marilyn Bell Park on September 12–13 — and I'd love to hit my goal before I hit the water. My goal is to raise $500, and whatever you can give goes straight to where the hospital needs it most. From my family to yours. 🐉

Two years ago Akoni was in the NICU. Tomorrow we're paddling to give back to SickKids. We've raised $600 so far and we're grateful for every single person who's supported this.
Race day is September 12–13. Wish us luck. 🙏

I'm honestly a little speechless. We didn't just hit our $500 goal for SickKids — we blew past it. $555 and counting!

This little guy is such a warrior!!! So happy he is thriving. Sick Kids is the best; I donate at every opportunity. My little Angelo got diagnosed with a lifelong illness and only sick kids were able to help him. We were in and out of there this whole year and now he’s so much better. God bless you all!
